Australian ATPL Pilot | Turboprop Command | International Jet Operations

My aviation career has taken me from commanding DHC-6 Twin Otters across remote island networks to extensive international B737-800NG operations. Throughout that journey, my approach has been shaped by command responsibility, disciplined airmanship and the people and communities I have served.

I am an Australian citizen and ATPL-qualified pilot with 13,427 flight hours, including 9,674 jet, 2,502 command, 1,927 turboprop, 13,096 multi-engine, 3,197 night and 1,105 instrument hours.

My turboprop experience was built on the DHC-6-300 Twin Otter across the Seychelles, Samoa and Tonga. I progressed from First Officer to Captain, conducting both single-pilot IFR and multi-crew operations on high-frequency services throughout geographically dispersed island networks. This was practical, hands-on regional flying, serving communities where aviation was an essential part of daily life. It required careful preparation, sound command judgement and dependable performance. The operation also included occasional emergency medical support flights, transporting medical teams, essential equipment and security personnel to outer islands and supporting patient evacuation to the main island.

I subsequently moved into international B737-800NG operations with Polynesian Airlines, Virgin Australia New Zealand and Virgin Australia. During 9,674 jet hours, I operated throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific in complex, pressurised multi-crew airline environments. This experience reinforced disciplined adherence to standard operating procedures, effective crew coordination, situational awareness and consistent performance under operational pressure.

Most recently, my work as a Flight Safety Specialist with Air New Zealand has involved investigating operational events and examining the human, technical and organisational factors behind them. It has shown me how pressure, assumptions and overlooked details can influence outcomes, strengthening both my judgement and the safety perspective I will bring back to operational flying.

My Air New Zealand role concludes on 4 September 2026. I am relocating to Brisbane, Australia and am ready to return to the flight deck, bringing with me broad experience gained through regional flying and international airline operations, the deeper judgement developed through safety work, and the same care for people, commitment to teamwork and high professional standards that have guided me throughout my career.
