New Horizons

From the emerald islands of the Seychelles, where turquoise water curled around coral shores, to the warm trade winds of Samoa and the scattered island kingdom of Tonga, aviation carried me into a world I could never have imagined as a young pilot looking skyward.

I learned to fly where the ocean filled the horizon, islands appeared like jewels below, and every destination seemed more beautiful than the last.

The Twin Otter became part of that life, lifting away from small island strips into tropical skies, crossing brilliant blue water and descending towards places that seemed to rise from the ocean just for us. Long sunny days, short sectors, passing rain showers and the steady rhythm of engines carrying us from island to island. It was flying in its purest form, and I loved it.

Then came the Boeing.

The horizons stretched farther. Island runways became international airports and short crossings became journeys across countries and oceans. Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific passed beneath the wings as the Boeing 737 became home for much of my flying career.

There is something extraordinary about seeing the world this way. A coastline emerging through the morning haze. Mountains breaking through cloud. The last light of evening falling across an empty ocean. Familiar places seen from an angle that somehow never becomes ordinary.

For all the years, all the miles and all the places aviation has carried me, I have never lost my love of flying.

I am now looking for the right opportunity to bring my experience, enthusiasm and love of flying to a new flight deck.
